Tasks

1. Conducting research in the area of health policies and strategies to provide evidence for policy making

- Conducting assessment o­n implemented health strategies and policies

- Conducting health system research and forecasting studies concerning with health strategy and policy

- Synthesizing scientific evidence and practical experiences nationally and internationally for health policy and strategy development

2. Providing consultations o­n the issues of health policies and strategies to Ministry of Health.

- Providing consultations and recommendations o­n health strategy and policy

- Conducting appraisal and opponent for health strategy and policy which are proposed for approval

- Participating and/or coordinating projects o­n developing health strategy and policy following assignment given by MoH

3. Conducting continuous training o­n development of health policies and strategies

- Participating and organizing continuous training o­n topics related to health strategy and policy

4. Collaborating with international partners in the research areas concerning with health policies and strategies

5. Institute’s operational management by autonomous mechanism according to Item 3, Article 4 of Decree 115/2005/NDD-CP

HSPI'S HISTORY Known as the Center of Health Service Human Sources in 1987, and the Center of Health Service Sociology in 1996, Health Strategy and Policy Institute (HSPI) was found according to the decision numbered 230/1998/QD-TTg o­n November, 11th 1998 to meet the social imperative requiring the equitableness and effectiveness in public health care and improvement, to meet the rapid development of technological science, to meet the general trend of global integration. HSPI is o­ne of six national institute under the direct authority of the Ministry of Health. HSPI was granted the licence of science and technology activities numbered 612 by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment o­n March, 5th 1999.
